Musings on the Joie de Vivre Tarot by Paulina Cassidy

8 card spreadThis is a snapshot of a freeflow reading using cards drawn from:

The Joie de Vivre Tarot by Paulina Cassidy.

Although whimsical, these cards have hidden depth.  This reading was able to provide me with some very valuable personal reflection on a situation very close to home.

Certainly the artwork is very pretty, and at first glance one might wonder how one could possibly reveal negative issues or challenges.  Don’t be fooled by the bright and smiling expressions!  For behind their smiling faces and the gifts of joy they promise they – like all other beings – hold the potential for danger, deceit and dishonesty.  Life is capricious and we must all keep striving towards a life that is good and balanced.

StarThe Star is hopeful; it inspires us and asks us to have faith, yet it cannot promise fulfillment of our dreams for we must achieve that for ourselves.

MoonThe Moon, though bright and shining, only ever shows us one face, the other is always shrouded in darkness and hidden from us.  That is why the Moon’s influence always speaks of mystery and hidden influences.

Strength, JVStrength reminds us that we cannot expect to overcome all obstacles in our path with force.  Sometimes, with compassion, we may deflect hostility and gain friendship from an unexpected source.

That is what the Hierophant and the card of Justice tell us.  Being scrupulously honest and playing by the rules will keep things balanced and in perspective.

Lets also remember to take some time out, for fun, for sharing and appreciating those who we care about, those who care for us.  Let us celebrate life and enjoy!
